Mortgage Deals For The Self Employed
When applying for a mortgage, the normal
process for people who are self employed is to show three years' accounts. If that’s not possible the lender may be happy with a letter from
an accountant. For individuals who have just begun as a
self employed person a lot will depend on what they were doing before. For example, whether or not
they have a track record in that industry.
A common problem for the self employed is that accounts may understate
the real position Lenders tend to assess individuals on how much profit
they are getting from the business and often this is quite legally
understated by accountants. This has the effect of cutting down the amount you
self employed individuals can borrow.
One solution is to opt for a self
certification mortgage offered by subsidiaries of many of the major
lenders in the UK.
If you work on a contract you can get a mortgage, but it is
often not as easy as it is for traditionally employed people. Some lenders
will be satisfied if you can prove that your contract has been renewed by the same employer. Others may want to see a pattern of renewals over
a period of one or two years.

the self employed
We have access to mortgage lenders who provide a solution for the self employed through what are known as

available through mortgage advisers such as ourselves and we
